I'm sure on the front menu you can switch off, lock-up and revisit the car every 15 minutes as I do. I do it in 15 minute goes since I use the backend developers menu (SWDL) since it shows what's going on and I just like to get it out of the way. You can do it without the engine running if you open the door every 20 minutes. The infotainment switches itself off after about 30 mins but the update continues, which is nice.įat32 is good but if a bigger card to 32GB then exFat. I tried it by leaving the ignition off and just turning the infotainment on, starting the update and locking the car and walking away. IIRC, they also say to leave the ignition on. The instructions say to format the SD card to exFAT so I did and it worked first time.

I updated the map on the bear yesterday using the download from the portal. Mac's don't get on well with these files. I know this since I spent a long time trying to edit the import file, it's cryptographically signed. Why the Mac random characters cause an issue is that the mib2 high unit performs an sla1 signature check before importing the map so stops in its track if one byte is out. That's zipped without the variable compression that causes issues with Skodas 195 release.įootnote. If you still have an issue unzipping use the VW download. Keka and CleanMyDrive are the recommended VW Mac tools.

Possible that the Mac software can handle the unzipping without throwing up errors but is highly likely you will need to give the resulted output a good buffing with CleanMydrive. However there were / are issues with the compression used on the latest maps (195). CleanMydrive run on the SD card after getting the files onto it wipes that out. Mac's produce garbage characters at the of the data rows. But I think Onyx will help more as it clears built up cache files and more.Suppose to use Keka and CleanMyDrive. Your friend's idea of cleaning out files will only help to free up disk space - which could be part of the issue if your drive is really full. Post back results and any more information you have. IF your hard drive fails the SMART check that Onyx runs on startup you will need to open Disk Utility and run disk repair and permissions repair then run Onyx.ģ.
